Hi rod. It was held on by two screws but I hate to say it after promoting it here I returned the backup camera this week. It was too slow on booting for normal use. I'm usually backed up by the time it would come up and even in Southern California the solar panels could not keep up the batteries unless I had a dud. When it worked it was great but I don't need the complication of a 90% solution in my life right now.
I will probably look at adding a backup camera because it was very useful to teach me where the rear of my vehicle actually was but this was not the right choice. It would probably still work if you wanted to try it for a camper backup camera but I would put a 5 volt charging port back there so you don't have to rely on the solar panels that are inadequate

Highjacked again!
All I can say is that as a happily married man for over 35 years, I'd surely hate to lose the sense of bliss my wife and I experience when backing into a campsite...especially at night after driving 7 hours or so.
Most of the other campers have already gone to sleep and there we are backing up, headlights still on...wife pointing one way or the other (out of view in my mirrors). If the mosquitos aren't too bad I'll roll down the window and "quietly" call out to her. "I can't see you!...I can't hear you!" I pull forward then back up again for the 5th time. Then finally, miraculously I hit the sweet spot! An hour later we've finished cooking dinner, washed the dishes and gone to bed. Never fails, the other campers wake us up early in the morning.
Seriously though, I have found the cheapo magnetic LED lights at Harbor Freight are perfect for backup lights. Just stick 'em onto the rear bumper of the trailer when you get to the campsite.

Wow. The good news is that hes excited about it. And since this is a free country, he can put up twenty security cameras on his RV if he wants. I’ll pass, thankyouverymuch.

NAW! This is just too much.
People, hear me...everyone needs to relax a bit.
Unless you've done something really, really bad to another person, nobody is out to get you. Take a breath.
Life is good (as are most people).
Some 38 years ago, I took my girlfriend (now wife of 35 years) tent camping in northern Maine. We set up camp on the shore of Flagstaff Lake. Sometime in the early hours we were awoken by the sound of running water on the side of our tent. I didn't need a camera to know what it was...a moose pissed on our tent. We were surprised, but once we realized what it was, we went back to a peaceful sleep afterwards.
Chill.

Wow. The good news is that hes excited about it. And since this is a free country, he can put up twenty security cameras on his RV if he wants. I’ll pass, thankyouverymuch. I've been following this man from way back when he started his channel while in college and living in an old broken down class C. He has struggled quite a bit and worked very hard to get his channel where it is today. Yes he now makes some pretty good money but there was a time when he was just trying to feed himself and put gas in the RV. The cameras that he has on his rigs have saved him numerous times either catching people in the act of trying to break in or being involved in a collision caused by other idiot drivers who lied to the police until Eric showed them the videos. Those cameras have paid for themselves many times over. So lets not be harsh to someone you don't know and have no idea where they came from. He has great advice on his channel for anyone in the RV game. Plus he's just a lot of fun to follow while he travels our beautiful country. Here's a video of the most recent case where the cameras saved him again. This happened in my old town of Lake Elsinore CA. just a month or so ago. Video Link: youtu.be/A4QYESUleHA

This is the screen of the Costco wireless solar backup camera. It fits perfectly in the console of my Tacoma. It turns on with the accessory power but you can also wave your hand in front of it to activate at any time so it can act like a rear view camera also (the angle could be adjusted up for better rear view). Because it's wireless and solar battery powered, no wiring required.

Was on vehicle. Might work on camper. I was not happy with it in a daily basis but for occasional towing it might be fine.

In fact, I have been so frustrated at the change in driving habits in the Seattle-Tacoma-Olympia corridor, I’ve been tempted to put a little pop up sign on the roof for when someone cuts me off, etc., that says something like, “…And when did you move from So Cal?” But then I’d get run off the road. I lived in So Cal for much of my life. It wasn’t always so bad, and people used to be more willing to stop and help. Those folks are still out there, it just seems more “fashionable” to be angry and self-absorbed these days. As far as I’m concerned, life is too dang short to worry about getting somewhere thirty seconds earlier.

When walking, I can predict which cars will blow through the crosswalk I'm in by how expensive they are. Doing more trips to LA than I'd like lately and it's just awful.

Dan, Please don’t paint those of us who drive “expensive” cars with the same brush. We went to one car about 18 months ago, a Tesla Model Y that tows Hamlet and is our passenger car, tow vehicle, and truck. We saved for several years and sold four cars to buy it. Anyone who spends $50K on a vehicle then drives it like a maniac is a nitwit.

I grew up in So Cal. I got my license there. I got my first and only ticket there. When I was young, people drove like well adjusted and educated adults. Now they all drive like a bunch of stupid kids on a go cart track willing to risk it all to get one more car ahead. They are ALL OVER the freeways, in and out of lanes, speeding in every lane including the "Merging" lane. That's the one on the right that people get on to the freeway with for those of you who have forgotten all the answers on the test.
I've even been passed on the shoulder while doing 60mph in the "merging" lane. I do have to go down there once in a great while and it seems that I am the only sane one on the road. So I get my business done and get the hell out of there as soon as possible. California used to be a nice and beautiful place. It was even nice in the cities once. Now there isn't enough money in the whole world to get me to move back down there.
I think this thread gets the "Most Hijacked Thread" award...

Sorry, should have used German, not Expensive. Tesla drivers, like Prius drivers, are more slow and distracted because they spend all their attention on the battery and mpg screens. No drivers are more dangerous to a pedestrian than aggressive BMW, Porsche, Mercedes or Audi drivers. I'm guessing SoCal entitlement is a special type.
