I am looking for the proper measurements of the small night stand table located in the rear gaucho bed area and attached to the kitchenette of a 59 Shasta Airflyte. I am also looking at how it was attached to the kitchenette. Any pics would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have a 59 sitting in line to be restored. I’ll see if I can help you out ASAP.

On my 62 Forester I made it a little smaller to work with a real 10" memory foam mattress.
I think the size is whatever works for you.

Thanks for the pic. It looks great. I was debating on something a little smaller as well. I'm still on the fence about what I'm going to do but the pic you sent will help in that process.

I checked my 59 and it doesn’t have a table attached to the kitchenette. It has the box on the end of the bed but no night stand. Now I’m curious to what it looks like and if it was an option.

My '59 had matching fold-down mini-tables on both ends of the bed, but I think they were added by a previous owner for their family of four kids. I had no idea this was an original option on some. Are you sure it wasn't added?

Are you sure it wasn't added? At some point Shasta added a single folding night stand to the side of the kitchenette. Some Airflytes didn't have them so I'm guessing it might have been the same year they made the goucho full length and eliminated the headboard shelf.

By the way, I had that end storage area taken out as well, making the bed longer. Our restorer used the lid to make a small shelf overhanging the bed at the other end. Just for my wife's glasses.

I’m trying to post a photo of the shelf but not exactly sure I’m doing this right. link to photo Measurement of the face
in case it doesn’t work, I’ll describe it.. it’s a right triangle that measures 15.5” across the hypotenuse, which has an edge that acts as a trim to hold stuff from rolling off. sorry this is my first post and I’m not sure how to add photos! Tracy

Hi Tom and Tracy,
For posting pix, you are halfway there. When you are in Flickr and looking at the photo on the screen, look down at the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
1. Click on the arrow and you will see a pop up white large rectangle. Make sure your setting is medium or smaller. 2. Then click on BBcode. You will see a link. Just click on the link and it should highlight in blue. You just copied the link. 3. Now come back to the response window here on VTT where you want to post your photo and right click to paste the image into your post. Finally, click on the submit button.
I hope that helps. You can edit your posts within 72 hours of any post on VTT. Try going back and editing one of your two posts above with the picture links with the steps I posted here. Then delete the second post.
Once you do that, I will delete this post to keep the thread clean.
Cheers,
Rod
