Hi all, so I’m rebuilding my 58 Jewel, all the way down to the frame. The 2 side walls have metal strapping, looks like heavier gauge aluminum (not steel, it’s very flexible ) than the skin, all along the bottom and tying up to the bottom half of the frame. When repairing or rebuilding the walls, has anyone put these back on during construction? Thanks, Scott

Yes, I use them when in good condition or make new ones. Be sure your side wall framing is firmly anchored down as well. The straps are extra "insurance".

I would reuse what's there if possible. The original design stood the test of time. Why change it?

Ok, now I understand. Yes, have seen those. I was thinking it was a metal strap that like ran all the way over the top and back down or something like a hurricane strap for the old mobile homes.
