Excellent.👊
Are you going to miss the low rider look? I recently came across the image of the Tesla connected to Hamlet and noted how incredibly low Hamlet sat.
Do share comparison before and after images.
Cheers,
Rod

I bought a WD hitch and it was so low I couldn't get out of the driveway.

You know the camper is too low when...
You can't get into the fast food place on a road trip.
You can see scrape marks on the axle.
You are picking up the camper and bottom out as you pull away from the old owners driveway.
I've done all three.

No worries, Hamlet. Just be sure to replace BOTH springs. Wonder how I know that?? Hmm, let me see… we took him in today, apparently the springs weren’t original. Some cheap ones that were too light weight for the trailer. And I suppose the wonderful roads we have here in the PNW didn’t help either. Anyway,we pick him up on Monday and I have promised Rod an “after” picture. We are just looking forward not to bottom out and dig trenches in our gravel driveway.

Joe,
I am sure we will like the new look after the lift.
Hamlet will look young again without the sagging especially in the rear end.😂

Hi Friends, Okay, so here you go. Here are the before pix and after pix all in one place. Hamlet will comment on the newly created downward angle using the old drawbar. I think the new lift makes Hamlet(the trailer) look GREAT! Lookin Good! Before
After

Thanks for posting the pics, Rod. We are NOT going to miss the low rider look, nor the two foot long divots in the driveway. When we got Hamlet, the axle had been flipped for his stint as a hunter’s flophouse in Idaho. We flipped it back, and it was nice not to need a step ladder to get inside. But I suspect the springs needed to be replaced even then.
We do need to pull out our straight hitch as the current one is just too low (which is why I suspect we needed new springs from the beginning). But it’s no longer listing port or starboard, nor stem to stern. Woo hoo! He’s ready for his next adventure, but with Covid restrictions lifted, my hubby is busy again. We had a lot of wonderful camping/biking/paddling trips the past two years. Ah well. At least there was one good thing that came out of the pandemic.

Springs are one thing we all should be cautious about. I had one fail once. Scary.
