Looking for advice on where to buy the parts needed to rebuild my entry door. I've tried looking on here for pictures and the ones that appear to be helpful are locked on photobucket. I've found where to purchase H trim but haven't found where to buy what appears to be C trim? Need to find a place to purchase the C trim or door frame. Not sure if those are the same thing.

First get the Photobucket Fix. Check our threads at the top of each board. You will need H trim and C trim plus skin to rebuild your door. Most of the time your hinge(s) can be saved and re-used. Frame the door and install the interior panel to get a close measurement for the H and C trims. Be sure to add for the skin. The trims must be made to fit the door, so it's not a one size fits all. Here is a good thread: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/12383/building-new-shasta-door My photos in this thread are not from Photobucket. There is also a link to a Shutterfly site showing a complete door build.

The other 3 sides of the door are h trim correct? Also, What material was used for your door opening? I understand to use H trim for 3 sides of the door but I'm not understanding what to use on the hinge side on the door and what to use for the actual door opening on the camper.

C trim on the hinge side, other 3 are h, yes. I had the h and C shapes made to fit the door thickness. The door opening has angle trim. The door trim should not be super thick and fit fairly flush to the body skin. Do the door trim first. The bottom door trim should have a larger flange going into the trailer, overlapping the flooring. (I use the original trim if available because they are built with a bump to prevent water entering the trailer) If you use new trim on the bottom, a curved piece of trim can be added as a weather bump. Mount it with screws and putty. Build the door body with approx. 1/8 inch clearance on top, bottom, hinge and handle sides. Be sure to test fit as you go; the door should open and close easily. The h trim keeps water out. (the hinge side may need a little more clearance, depending on the hinge) Here is a link to my Cardinal door build with lots more photos: 58cardinal.shutterfly.com/pictures/695 The pix are near the top of the page.
