The ONLY reason people don't like to pay for shipping is because they know the price of shipping. With all other products, the shipping is included in the price and no one tells you how much that shipping costs. Because Steve Loomis is honest, he tells you the cost of shipping so you can decide if you want it shipped or to go pick it up yourself. Steve doesn't set the shipping costs. The transport companies do that. Steve has nothing to do with it. He does however charge you for the packaging. He goes to great lengths and expense to make sure you metal gets to you undamaged. What do you think it costs to ship your car here from over seas and then put it on a truck and ship it across the country? ? If you knew, you wouldn't want to pay it. I'm really tired of listening to people complain about the shipping costs. If you want the right metal at the right price you go to Hemet Valley RV Siding... If you think the shipping is too much, drive there and pick it up yourself. Nothing is stopping you. OH.... And some of you might want to change your voting habits so we can get the shipping costs back down to reasonable....

Careful Larry.
But, your points about shipping costs are correct, for small items shipping is cheap and easily included in the price. Large delicate items are the other extreme

Careful Larry. But, your points about shipping costs are correct, for small items shipping is cheap and easily included in the price. Large delicate items are the other extreme And recent events have driven up the cost of everything, ESPECIALLY shipping. Nothing wrong with trying to save money every way you can. And if you like, you can make all your own metal. Wanna save $3500? Buy a used 8 foot hand brake for $800 to $1500. Then buy your aluminum from Interstate Metal Supply or some place like it for $45 a sheet. You can make your own metal for the entire trailer and perhaps for a few of your friends and end up saving a lot of money. But please don't complain about shipping costs when there is nothing you can do to change them.

I've been considering making a press brake for my siding since I want longer lengths.
Coil aluminum is readily available.
