It looks as though you have a toaster style Compact (fridge above and to the left of the sink in the closet). Our ham style never had anything like that. it looks like the curvy top part is covering a rod of some kind. if that's the case, maybe it was meant to hang a towel or something? Hopefully another Compact owner will chime in with an answer.

Definitely a bracket of some kind. I don't think it's original but maybe. From the curved section, something may have lifted up and into the curved section. Towel holder was the first thing that came to mind...I wonder if it was an extension to the counter space? Ironing board?

Hi Friends, Looking at his image helps with perspective. flic.kr/p/2mb8XBEI wonder if it was part of a locking mechanism to keep the original fridge closed during transport. Maybe part of a towel holder? Very odd, but interesting. Moonshine jug opener? Rod |
