Original front window had wood trim on inside no metal trim/flashing. All other windows have metal frame/flashing on inside. Is it worth it for me to purchase the metal flashing, I can get vintage trim for $50. Thinking Window may not fit with metal trim but I am putting new skin on so could alter the opening. Is it worth it for the extra work or should I leave it the way it is? The rough opening is 58”x18” and my window that would go inside it is 57 1/2”x17 3/4”. Seems like it would still fit but is there a worthwhile benefit? I kinda like how the wood trim looks if not. I have the piece of wood trim that covers seams and runs under window, it fell off. I haven't seen ONE window without trim when the others have it. Still, I don't think flashing makes a difference if you like the wood trim.
