Im fixing up my windows in my 64 Glendale (made in Canada) and have started stripping the paint. I cannot find any identifying stamp or numbers on it so thinking they are not Hehr? I think I can match the rubber seals from photos etc but wondering about the clips holding the glass panes in. They are not like any other I have seen in photos. Im assuming they would have had the little silicon cushions ions ago but there are none left and all of them are bent the exact same way. I have to pull a pane of glass as well to get another made and don't want to break the metal pieces. Any info/suggestions would be appreciated. Link to photos below. I'm guessing someone may have bent the pieces or it was a different type of clip. I would use the silicone disks as well. They really cushion the glass.
Looks like a mess, have fun!

I found a replacement Hehr Jalousie clip I have and held it in the same orientation as the one in your photo and it's quite a bit different. I would say they are not Hehr and likely never used the little squishy rubber circles to begin with. Does it look at all like the previous owner may have modified them? Not sure what the open cell foam in the corners is for? It does not look like the aluminum comes anywhere near them?
To get the glass out I think you bend the metal tabs near the rivets down away from the glass and out at the same time. Doing this on both sides should give you the space so the glass can fall below the lip on the end of the clip and slide out.
Hopefully others with this same style will chime in. Good luck :-)

Thanks Vikx and PT. It doesn't look like any previous owners modified anything on this trailer. It was literally a silicon(not fix) leaks and paint over everything to make it look better. Im literally dealing with tar and silicon over the jrails kind of 'fixing' lol.
I know being made in Canada they didn't always use the same parts as the American ones. I will try bending one of the clips and cross my fingers. I've watched MobilTech's video on jalousie windows so hopefully it will work on these too. I am hoping to add the Hehr glass seals between the panes and Ill try and add the cushions as well just for good measure. There is so much crap on them its going to be quite a job getting everything clean and shiny again.
If anyone else has this type windows I would love to hear how you managed them.

Hi Friends,
Interesting. That's not a Hehr window.
Initionally, I thought the rubber discs that Hehr uses to hold in the glass were never part of the equation, but looking at it again and again, I am starting to think that something similar may have been used and as the discs dried out, the PO just bent the tabs.
For removing the glass pane, my suggestion is a little different than PT's. I would just bend the tab down so the bottom edge of the tab is parallel to the ground and maybe a hair more. See if the glass comes out. If it doesn't then go to the added step of bending out. However, I would be really cautious if you go to the bending out stage because when you bend it back, that's when I can see it breaking off.
I had to replace a glass pane on the jalousies on my Rod and Reel once. I took another glass panel out of the frame and took it in to a glass shop so he could use it as a template. He traced around it and cut it. The result was that it was a smidge off. I couldn't get it into the frame and had to use emmory cloth to sand down the glass to make it fit. It was an ardous chore. So, what I am suggesting is to cut the glass a smidge narrower making the length a tiny bit shorter just to make sure it fits - Maybe a millimeter or two narrower.
Another consideration is that currently, at least from your description, the glass panes are in place. If it works, don't fix it, comes to mind. I know it's easier to clean up the glass panes when they are removed, though.

Hi Teachndad,
Thanks for your insight. I am missing one pane of glass in my kitchen window which is why I was going to remove one for the glass shop to copy. I can see what you mean about not touching the others if I don't need to. They all need to be cleaned up badly and I can likey do that without removing the rest of the glass. There are 5 jalousie windows and all of them have the same clips and no marks like they have ever been bent but in 60yrs, who knows. It is a canadian made trailer so maybe they didn't use them on this one? I have only seen 2 other trailers the same as Glendale didn't do cookie cutter trailers back then and they didn't even build them the same between their two plants.
Crossing my fingers!!

So I managed to remove the pane of glass I needed to and found that the clips bend nicely back flat toward the side frame without a struggle. Then the glass was able to pivot and miss the upper end of the holder and then just slide out. On closer inspection it appears that the side of the frame is screwed on with two screws top and bottom and the only way to get the screens out without bending the frame would be to remove the side of the window which seems odd. I have to replace the actual screen in several so that should be interesting. Thanks for everyones suggestions I also just received my order from vintage trailer gaskets and looks like I can use some of the Hehr seals to replace mine even though they are not identical. Now the fun begins! lol
