Hello everyone, I’m a newbie here. As you can tell by my user name, I’m an owner of a Va-Ka-Shun-Ette, or at least I think that I am. My wife and I bought the camper a few years ago and I was intending to start the restoration then but then we bought a house and I had to work on that instead. Well I’m just about ready to start the restoration and I would like to find out a bit more about it. The camper is registered as a mid sixties homemade. The woman that we bought it off of said that she thought it was actually early 50’s but she didn’t know the brand. I’m guessing that all identifications were removed so it could be registered as homemade, probably due to lack of paperwork, I don’t know. After searching around the web and YouTube I found some similarities to other Va-Ka-Shun-Ettes, for example the stove, sink, roof vent, lights, the step, trailer hitch etc.. There were a couple that I saw with the same refrigerator but no other trailer info. I didn’t see any other brands with the same components, that’s why I’m pretty sure it’s a Va-Ka-Shun-Ette but I don’t know what year. There are no markings on the tongue or the door. Speaking of doors, this one has one on both sides. The second one is at the end of the bed with no outside handle. I haven’t seen another one like it. I’m going to attempt to add some photos as soon I figure how to navigate here, I’m having a hard time figuring that part out, I might need help. Once I get the photos on here, if there’s anyone that can help me figure out the year and confirm or dispute the model that I think it is, I would appreciate it. Thanks

I found this on tin can tourists; Vaka shun ette is listed as being a model of Zollinger trailers. tincantourists.com/wiki/zollinger/?nowprocket=1Not enough pics to show street side door which was called both an escape hatch or boyfriend door . You might try a search for more info on Zollinger as the TCT info they are still in business altho no longer building trailers. Good luck and someone else from here will soon help with posting pics as I am an old luddite and have never figured out how to get photos out of my Polariod land camera.

I did find info from tin can tourists awhile back. I knew about the history of the Zollinger Trailer Company etc. They only showed a limited amount of photos and none of my camper. Thanks for the connection though. I also opened an account with Flickr to upload some photos but when I pasted the url, that’s all that appeared on my thread, no images. I did however, go into my profile and was able to change my avatar with an image of my camper from the photos on my iPad. I am trying to do all of the photos via my iPad and Flickr.

Hello and welcome, If you use the URL of the photo, click on the photo icon in advanced settings when posting. That will ask you for the URL. Paste it into the cell that begins with Http://. Then click enter. Also, in flicker if you click on the bloated arrow in the lower right hand corner of the image, you can then click on the BBC code. Copy and paste that directly into the text of your post here at VTT and the image can show up that way too. You will have to click on the Create Post button and then the image will show up. Hope that helps. Rod

Followed everyone’s instructions, still not working for me. Either I’m missing something or I need to try another source besides my iPad. Thanks for all the advice.

More on photos: LOGIN to Flickr and click on the bloated arrow of the photo as Rod said. It will take you to a box. Click on "embed", then copy the URL. It will turn blue when you click on it. Paste into your post and the photo should show up.
