GRP ( glass reinforced plastic ) caravans have been made in the UK since the 1930's but really became popular in the 1950's and 60's ... the main benefit of GRP bodys was that you could design them into very space age shapes .... they didn't have straight edge panels that needed sealing , so didn't leak ...... even if the windows did leak the water would have nothing to rot !! and of course they were a lot lighter to tow ....... The most iconic of these is the mid 1950's to early 1960's Willeby vogue which was totally plastic including the chassis the Willeby vogue .......

Sean, just wanted to say 'Thank You' for giving us (here in the States) a look at some of the most interestingly styled caravans I've ever seen! If you have more to share, please keep them coming!!
Oh yes...and Welcome to the forum .

We need to import some of these trailers. Imagine a trailer with no wood rot. I wish I had a rich uncle!

Sean, What were the English hiding under those oddly exaggerated 'nose cones'on the Sunliner, chromed kegs of Worthington White Shield, Bass ale? Maybe Old Peculier? I like it!
