As I continue my search for a Vintage Travel Trailer, it appears most overhead bunks are for children. During a rebuild, has anyone ever added support to the bunk so an adult can sleep on it? Thanks, Bear

I don’t know if I would want to be sleeping below even with a reinforced bunk. Most are pretty close to the ceiling for an adult to turn over as well as getting down from the bunk. I have a scar on my head as a kid from falling from there and hitting the corner of the heater of our 66 Shasta. That being said anything is possible though. I wonder if anyone has done this.

Thanks, Bear I reinforced all of the wall framing in that area and also added slide latches to the front to latch it into the wall. I might trust my 90lb daughter up there, but I wouldn't put my Covid-19 lb weight gain self up there. I would worry most about the walls flexing, causing the bunk to collapse.

Don’t want to hijack the thread, but I hadn’t a good laugh about the Covid-19 weight gain. My hubby got hooked on “The Great British Bake-off” and i “had” to critique all his treats. I didn’t get Covid-19, but I did get the “Covid-15.”

I've been searching Craigslist, FB and eBay. The model is important because I need to sleep three adults and two dogs. I also need a bathroom. Thanks for all the feedback.
