All the credit goes to Tom for the idea of taking the axle out. I used 3 floor jacks and Jack stands. I had 2 jacks in the back and 1 on the tongue. Remove the axle and start lowering. When I got it as low as possible, I just used a big pry bar and 4x4 block and lifted it up with that to pull the jacks out. Wasn’t hard at all. If your going to remove the axle be sure to spray all the leaf spring bolts with PB blaster a day or 2 before. Helps them to come out. I moved the trailer to my garage in the house to build walls and cabinets. To do that I bought 2 caster wheels from Harbor Freight. Screwed them to the bottom of the rear bumper and used a floor Jack on the tongue. Me and my son rolled it to the other garage like that. I hope to be moving it back in a week or 2 to start reassembling. One more thing: be sure to take all the screws, staples and nails out that holds the bottom of the skin on before you lower it to the ground or you won’t be able to get them.

Thanks for sharing. Every photo story shows differences in the way we repair our vintage gems. Not all trailers were built identically, so every small trick really helps everyone...

I haven’t found any new tricks except for the Shasta Tom removing the axle trick to get in the garage and that was a game changer.

William,
Looks great. Cabinets really look good. What brand of barrier wrap did you use?

Looking great! Glad the metal fit back on OK. If you start to have problems with the roof metal running off contact me. I know the fix.

I’ve got to buy a piece of metal for the front. The one that was on it is in bad shape. Like I commented in your video before, the front windows are giving me anxiety. I’m about to that stage where I’ve got to do them though.

Been a little slow because of work, possibly selling the house and temperatures over 100 degrees. Trying to get all I can done just in case we have an emergency move in the near future. If that happens I'll be packing it all up and shifting it to a rent house and "portable" building quarters. Had to rebuild the door IMG_E3106 by will andrews, on Flickr Still got to install the handle IMG_3104 by will andrews, on Flickr With it being hot as hades I brought the windows in the house one at a time to put new gaskets in and reinstall the glass. Still like a couple more windows. IMG_3105 by will andrews, on Flickr

Thanks Larry. Honestly I couldn’t do the majority of it without you sharing your videos and experience.

You need to get done and come back north to visit me. This looks great. You are now heading to the end and it seams like you will never get there but you will, just keep at it.
I am glad you saved this camper and are doing it right. It should bring you many years of pleasure.

Find somewhere in the middle and do a few days. If anyone is interested just let me know and we can start looking for a spot

I'm thinking Airzona due to the good weather in late fall.
