I wish my cabinets were in the same condition. I'm not sure if they can be saved. Even getting the old and new wood to match may be impossible.

I’ll get burnt out and then I’ll binge watch your videos to get reinspired. I’ve watched your front window install for the Shasta 50 times and I still need to go back a couple more times to make sure I get it right.

A man once said if you replace everything it’s a rebuild instead of a restore. My finish might not match perfect but I’ll do my best. I still have to come get some of that plywood though. They’re not open on Saturday and close early on Friday. I asked him if he would ship and he said “ sure, send me a truck and I’ll throw it right in there for you”. Lol

Hit a huge milestone. I got to sniffing around on the facegram and I found a guy with 16 sheets of 1/8" birch. Made a 2 hour ride lastnight and came home with it at $18 a sheet. IMG_2537 by will andrews, on Flickr

Hi Friends,
I have been reviewing this thread. I don't think anyone has ever asked this, but how did you get the axle off the trailer and then rest the frame with body attached onto the ground? Did you take any pix of the process?
Cheers,
Rod

If the tongue jack is still on you do it this way, Put the trailer on jack stands. remove the axle, lower the trailer down to the lowest setting of the jack stands, raise the tongue jack to touch the ground and I then normally come from the back side and jack up the the trailer on one side and lower pull out the stand and lower that rear corner to the ground. I then go to the other side and other side and do the same thing. (I do have a low profile jack)I now go back to the front and rise the camper with the tongue jack and pull the jack stands and then lower the camper to the ground with the tongue jack.
Now if you don't have a tongue jack you need to do much of the same thing but I then use the jack under the tongue and lower it until I can't go any further and then I use a large pry bar and a chunk of wood to get it off the jack.

Thanks Tom. Did the rear corners of the skins and bumper come through unscathed? If you remember, can you take a few pix of the process to raise the trailer when you get to that point? I may have to do this with my Westerner because of space constraints.
Cheers,
Rod

I will try and remember. Everything seemed to come out just fine but you putting it on the bottom of the frame so you do create a little but a paint scuff on those spots unless you can put it down on wood but I didn't have the room to even have wood under so it went right down on the angle iron and frame.
