I have a friend that does glass on commercial buildings. I’ve already put in a request for all the crates his glass is delivered in. I’m a project manager for a major electrical company. Pvc conduit has went up 300% in the last few months. My wire quotes I’m getting are only good for 24 hours. I also checked on tires for my truck. Bf good wrench ko2. I was told they were on back order 4 months

The price for a restored camper has to adjust upward like home prices lately.

I agree it's not just lumber. Even used items have gone up; was looking for a mobility scooter part for a guy and a used wire "basket" went from $50 to $84!

I went into my local big orange store here in Calgary with the idea of picking up some 2x4s to do some fence repairs. I think it will have to wait until next year and hopefully prices will come down. 2x4 8 ft. $10.59, 2x2 8ft-$6.50. What almost gave me heart failure was the price of plywood. 3/4 in. spruce $102.00, 1/2 in spruce $68.98, 3/8 spruce $53.25. This is unsanded standard plywood. The real shock was 3/8 osb, $65.80 a sheet. It was $30.00 last fall and only about $12.00 two years ago.

$98 bucks for 1/4 AB marine plywood. Cutting it up for curbing edge. Just crazy.

Not surprising a lot is on back order as well. The owner of my 52 Hanson can't get tires for months. (it needs an odd "skinny" size because of the wheel well clearance) Prices are crazy; cost me $65! for a garbage can...and there's a beer shortage because of aluminum cans.

A growler can circumvent the aluminum can problem. Only thing is that it pretty much has to be ingested in one sitting. So grab a couple friends and make beer bread with the lefotovers.

Seems like it’s coming down here. I paid 3.48 for 8’ 2x4s and 3/4” plywood is around $32 a sheet.

It's a shame nobody makes 1/8" 4x8 birch anymore. Even if prices come down our options will be limited.

The price of that is pretty much the same. I’ve found 1/4” birch for $26 a sheet but still no 1/8”. I found 1/8” maple for $55 but it wasn’t eye pleasing at all. The luan at our home depot has a nicer birch looking grain then the maple. I’m still leaning that way. I’ll post a pic of my 65 with the luan. It looks good to me for what it is. It’s been in there 3 years now with no ill affects.

I just used one coat of amber and one of clear. If I do it again I’ll sand the plywood a little to smooth it out more. I’ll try to load them tomorrow. My lap top is at my office.

I've only used luan for projects that I was painting, but doesn't it stain up very red? May look amazing like mahogany, but I'd love some pics. The older luan had a mahogany side and a "birch" side with patched holes. The newer luan that places are carrying have the "birch" on both sides. Our TD did have a red mahogany shade to it, but was ok for the small interior size and the contrasting poly'd pine ply. (I used Helmsman Spar Urethan on everything, I just like it, ok, lol) Well, was good enough for what we wanted "a low cost camper we could use". (Watchin' Mobiltec from the basin campground in Big Bend NP) Sorry, I'll try to get the picture turned correctly at work tomorrow. (golly, surely that's not my big chin there in the corner, wow) Whitney

My wife and I were supposed to build another house last year. Well, that fell through with Covid. Then the wood has gotten higher and higher along with everything else. We started planning for next year and now it's up in the air as it will be $70k added on to the mortgage just in increase supplies cost.
I was given some free treated wood from a deck that was still good. A truckload of 6X6X9 and 8X8's. If I can't find a decent piece of sheet metal for the floor of my coverted camper frame trailer to utility trailer. Then I'm going to buy one of those Alaskan saw mill kits. Then call a friend with a giant Echo saw and offer him a 12 pack of beer and we'll cut the wood needed for the floor.
