Hello everyone! My name is Sherman. I recently purchased a 1956 Rollohome and I'm looking for any info on this or similar models. It's about 40' long 10' wide... Frankly I have almost no idea what I'm doing and I'm really looking for any help I can get on doing this piece of history justice. It's in great shape for its age, but there IS some visible water damage in the ceiling above one of the doors, and some less severe damage on the adjacent wall. The exterior side paneling in some places also appears to be pulling away a bit, but its not really noticeable unless you're looking closely. Other than that everything is almost all original and in really good shape: wood paneling, kitchen/bathroom sinks and countertops, original Preway gas stove, Philco refrigerator, swamp cooler (though I may replace this with a new AC unit especially if the roof needs to be completely redone, "International Saint Louis Missouri TAC 1050 Series gas furnace," and original washer and dryer. There is a new full sized water heater that was installed by the most recent owner. At some point someone painted the inside of some of the cabinetry a hideous green, so I wonder about whether to strip it or repaint? I'm most concerned about the leak in the roof and potential necessary repairs on the exterior walls as well. I've found some videos and other resources, but most are not very helpful to someone like me who has little experience and needs help step by step. Super excited to have found this group!

First, do no harm... meaning don’t start tearing things apart. Second, it’d be really helpful to post pictures. Third. Get vikx”s book about repairs and watch mobiltec’s videos. Fourth, and most important, WELCOME!

As much as I truly am devoted to this site, there is another that is geared more toward older and larger trailers like yours. Here is a link: www.tapatalk.com/groups/repairingyesterdaystrailers/Like this forum, there is a wealth of collective knowledge with lots of people happy to help. Looking forward to seeing pics!
