Many of us are getting older and have health issues. As you know, I am the owner and Proboards only allows one owner. I can designate a successor with Proboard's permission but that doesn't mean the sucessor will be around to take over if I die.
Qualifications for Ownership of Vintage Trailer Talk forum: General RV knowledge, I include modern systems her.(plumbing, electrical, tow wiring, gas, etc) The more RV knowledge you have, the more you will know when it comes to what is "legal" etc...That way, you can offer repair suggestions on systems and appliances.
Having rebuilt at least one complete vintage trailer from the frame or ground up should be a requirement, with photos. Knowledge of acceptable methods and materials to accomplish a complete vintage build is a must.
Basically, the information posted here should be correct and helpful to those rebuilding their vintage trailers.
Forum knowledge is not required but recommended; moderators can help.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome, as are volunteers. We want to keep VTT alive for all to view and enjoy.

Geez, I don’t like knowing we aren’t all immortal.
V,
You planning on continuing on being the administrator a little while longer? Great forum.

I think forum knowledge should be the #1 requirement. You would need to find someone that knows this forum inside and out and is willing to be around all the time to address any issues. Like add or subtract categories, answer any technical questions and things like that. Obviously that person would have to have a interest in vintage trailers. And dedication to be a daily contributor. But I don't think they would necessarily need to be the know it all encyclopedia of trailer building. That's what all the members are for. Some members are going to know more than others when it comes to certain topics. It shouldn't have to be one person's responsibility to answer every question or even know the answer to every question. As long as the forum is inviting to new people and the stick around along with all the long standing members and the knowledge will be there. Just my opinion. I'm sure it will all work out.

Yes, I will be here as long as I'm able. I'm just wondering who wants to commit to keeping the forum alive and has the time to do it...
Volunteer or make suggestions via PM to me. Are you willing to be here every day and moderate? Read every post?
I've found that some members must be deleted to keep the peace here, even if they post good information. I've striven to keep debates away, post correct vintage trailer information and keep the board commercial free. Posting links has caused us some trouble when they are too commercial. It's sort of a domino thing-one link breeds another and so on. I think folks can look the info up for themselves.
Thanks to everyone and thanks for the ideas.

I appreciate you keeping it civil for us. Sometimes can be hard keeping the kids in line.

I expect vikx to be around for many years but it’s good to have a line of succession.

Reality sometimes slaps us in the face. You have done an amazing job. I think many people have no idea how time consuming it is to manage something like this invaluable board. You rock!

Here's what's happening:
Vikx will be #1, NCCamper #2 and DanRhodes #3 in the line of succession. Our original member Nomad will continue on as forum support.
Teachndad has offered to be a moderator and keep things up as well.
Things are going well on the forum right now. To have it last beyond us is saving priceless information. We will soon write the letter to Proboards about succession, so that will be in place when we need it.
Thanks for all your help.

I can't imagine losing this source of information as well as the sense of respect and community. Thanks to Vikx and the many regulars who put all that time into this.
