How much more would a new axle cost? Unsure, it would need to be custom. The spring to spring measurement on my axle is 52”

Did it have original brake wires along the frame or original towing harness with brake wires? Should be 12/2 black wiring. I don’t know if they originally had brakes. My 58 deluxe has brakes but is longer and heavier. I have original 15 inch KH wheels with 12x2 brakes. I wonder if yours should have12x2 brakes not the 10x2 per your new brake assemblies. Just a thought.

I looked around and I think it originally had 14 inch wheels and electric brakes were standard. So maybe it took the 10x2 brakes. I am sure someone here would know on this forum the correct specs.

I'm going through a similar situation right now. One of my drums is cracked so I need replacements. Everyone seems to recommend just get a new axle, but mine is also a custom size. I ended up talking to someone at eTrailer. I was able to give them the numbers off the inner and outer bearings and they were able to cross reference that to some replacement hubs. Now I'm crossing my fingers that everything fits up to my original axle correctly. If all goes well then I'll have new hubs, brake assemblies, wheels and center caps for $451 (US) including tax/shipping.

BTW, you can supply eTrailer with certain measurements of the spindle and they can try to cross reference replacement parts. I think that is the scenario for the OP where the brakes are no longer present.
