Great job - you guys are quick workers :-).
Was the welder able to get your cracked frame fixed up? I've always wondered how well they can work on a large frame component like that while the camper sits on top of it.
Have fun camping this summer!

It's going to be a challenge, for sure. Will report out when it's done. We had to move fast because my partner in crime (my sister) left Monday to take care of her daughter after surgery and won't be back until the week before our camping reservations in June. I can handle what's left on my own. And some things are just going to have to wait until after camping season.

So excited! One of the things I love about the Loflyte is all of the Hehr jalousie windows. And tonight I was able to get ALL of them working! They were stuck shut to begin with, but some lubrication and gentle persuasion (rocking back and forth slowly) did the trick. The windows are all in great shape - nothing broken, nothing missing. All of the screens are there too! Next winter I'll replace all of the gaskets. Also have a couple still to pull and replace putty tape. Jalousie by Barbara, on Flickr

Welder did a beautiful repair on the frame. I'll try to get a pic next time I'm working under there. There was some minimal scorching to the wood right above the frame but he kept everything wet so it's really minor. He's into vintage trailers himself so he really took care with it.

She's going camping!!! Front window ledge rebuilt and curtains are up. We finished painting the exterior and put the rock-guard back on. It still needs to have the frame straightened and fiberglass panels replaced, but it's functional and can wait. Right now it's time to camp and we'll resume restoration in the fall. VTS has restocked marker lights and tail lights, so I've got those waiting in the wings...actually WITH the wings! In the meantime we've got temporary lights working. Cracked frame was repaired beautifully by Kye's Custom Fabrication here in Roseburg. 20210606_171918 by Barbara, on Flickr Front ledge rebuild - before: 20210501_132403 by Barbara, on Flickr After front ledge rebuild. 20210606_171905 by Barbara, on Flickr Curtains and happy cushions! 20210624_142350 by Barbara, on Flickr 20210606_131332 by Barbara, on Flickr 20210606_172239 by Barbara, on Flickr

Hi Barbara,
You have done magnificently! So glad you found a capable welder for the frame that knows trailers.
I wish I had found someone like that at the beginning of the restoration of my Westerner. Needless to say, things would be way different today.
Restore on!

This blog is very wonderful! I just picked up my 1968 Loflyte in July from a FREE to me Facebook marketplace add. It was sitting new a small river next to an old family cabin and hadn’t been moved for 25 years, much less cleaned. The last tenants, of the varmit type, pulled what I’ve observed, all the insulation out of walls for bedding…. They’re beds were the oven and around the cooler… I have the front droop in as well and so glad to see that others have been there and there repair remedies, yay!!!
