I posted some great pics of retro tile patterns, several great die cut patterns, which made me wonder if I could do that. So I bought one 68 cent tile to experiment on and here's what I did: Heated the tile in the spot where I wanted to punch my pattern. I use a craft size heat gun. Heated a metal cookie cutter (warning it gets HOT). Put the tile on top of a phone book, put the heated cookie cutter on it, covered it with a piece of thick junk mail (just what I had handy). Tapped it with a hammer all the way around (I actually used some big heavy metal mallet, like a little sledge hammer) After it was stuck in the tile all the way around, I turned it upside down, reheated the bottom, covered it and tapped it again. Check it out: TOP SIDE image by susieqilvu, on Flickr Bottom image by susieqilvu, on Flickr FINISHED PRODUCT I don't have a contrasting color to make an insert but ideally you'd probably be better off to punch both tiles at the same time. image by susieqilvu, on Flickr

After it cooled, it fit back in the cut out perfectly. I'm not sure I'm actually going to do this in my trailer but I had to try! Sorry I didn't have more interesting colors for my experiment.

Now if you can come up with a cookie cutter the shape of a Shasta you are in business.

Can you imagine little trailers of different colors all through out the floor?
