purchased a 1956 Shasta basket case 2 years ago I’m now 95% done. Would post pictures but I’m a computer caveman and don’t know how. Only 3 pieces of wood remain original to camper..this thing literally fell apart when unloaded. Have title issues and that’s why I joined this forum. Thanks

Good luck Don. Depending on the state will determine the difficulty. You also have to willing to provide any information they ask for if possible and keep a good attitude about it when dealing with folks, its always seem to work for me anyway. Is the VIN clear and visible? That helps when trying to get it registered / titled with the proper year. If that doesn't matter, then you might be able to title it as an assembled trailer of the current year. I've done both ways here in Indiana.

The vin is clear. It’s really a serial number. Only has 5 digits. Don’t know if they will think of that as a vin #.

my guess is there is a letter c in front of the number for that year if it is a shasta.
The number is on curbside tongue. Right behind the hitch on the C channel. You may have to scrub and use some chalk to be able to read it. Good luck.
