Hamlet came to us without several important items, one of which was the stove. Ten years ago, we couldn't find a Princess three-burner, but found a somewhat newer (than early 60s) Magic Chef four burner. It had been well used when we bought it, and we have used it a lot over the years. The last time I lit the oven, I realized that all the lettering on the oven control knob had rubbed off. I suspect this is a pretty universal knob, but I can't find one out there. The knob works, so what I'm looking for is a close up photo of the knob face so I can paint it onto our existing knob. Can anyone out there help?

Question.......are the numbers/letters recessed into the knob in question? If they are like the knob on my Dixie stove (recessed) you could paint them, then use some solvent to wipe off the excess, leaving the paint in the recess. One Shot is a brand of slow drying enamel used for the past 100 years by sign painters and pin stripers. It dries fully in 24 hours, and would be great for this job.
As a back up, if your letters were not recessed into the knob, it would be best to locate a nicer condition used knob. Chris (aka) Trailertrasher is a good possible source. Another is a online company called Antique Appliances that I purchased my reproduction refrigerator door seal. At least your looking for a part for a "name brand" manufacturer.

I will try to get a better picture for you this week. Not sure how much you can zoom in on this picture. Stove by Andea Garey, on Flickr

Thanks for offering to help Agpa. This thread is 6 months old. Lets see if Hamlet still needs a fix for this. She will be along soon enough.
Cheers,
Rod

That looks like a slightly newer version of our stove, and yes, that’s what the knobs probably looked like new. I guess that it’s not particularly common to have worn out printing, but ours showed signs of considerable use. Where did you find yours? Confession: I never got to look online before we mothballed Hamlet for the winter. Maybe there are still some out there.

We bought our Holiday Rambler in January. This is the stove that was in it It may be original - 1976. Pictures attached. The lowest numbers are 140, 170, 200 then 250. Not sure what is on there but I didn't have anything to clean it off. Excellent, thank you! This helps a lot. Our model is probably several years older, but the knobs are nearly identical.
