Hello everyone, My first real post. I am a newbie to the Shasta Forum, a lot of good information. I rebuilt a 68 Bronco and used the Bronco forum a lot. It's nice to have like minded folks who understand the particulars of a certain vehicle or in this case a Camper. So, I've been watching Mobiltec's video's like it was my job and the rebuild on the 57 Shasta has been very helpful, Larry clears up a lot of things on the campers, and includes information on Home Deport and the Chinese, very funny to listen to him, but he's been very helpful. I have not seen on his site anything on how to install the original metal Shasta doorstep. I have a photo of the item, but have not figured how to add photo's to a post yet on this site. So, it appears I need more help then I thought. Looking to get the "Cliff Notes" version on how to install the step and the exact location it bolts in. If someone can help with uploading a photo I can send it. Thanks, Cliff H

Cliff are you talking about the entry way step, or the threshold at the doorway entering the cabin?

The step that pulls out under the door? If it has bolts or bolt holes, you should see some on the frame. You also may have to rebuild the entryway because some steps bolt down thru the floor as well. You'll want good sturdy wood if that is the case.

I've still got a couple of them out in the yard, I'll have to look but I think they were welded in place. My memory fails me at the moment but I think they were attached between a pair of outriggers in the metal frame underneath.

Mine is a slide out step that attaches underneath; it bolts onto to some rails that are welded in place.

On my '67 BeeLine they had 2x's running cross ways and carriage bolts going through the floor play / 2x's / and securing the step frame to that underneath.
