Good day everyone! New to the forum. I recently (July 8th, 2020) bought a vintage trailer, a 1978 Travelaire Rustler 205L, made in Red Deer Alberta. I hope I'm allowed to post my trailer here and in a future post, the progress I have made to it.
The pic below shows the trailer after I bought it and got it to my dad's place. I have since done a lot of things to it.
The spec sheet inside says it weighs 2,775 pounds dry and 4,400 pounds max. Has furnace, 3-way fridge, water heater, 30 gallon fresh water tank, 3 piece bathroom, 3 burner stove with oven, No air conditioning but is wired for 120V 30amp.
I don't really have a place to do major work on it, so I work on it at my storage yard (the owners are really nice) and sometimes take it to my brothers place, but have to do the work on the public street as he doesn't have a driveway.

Welcome! Congrats on your new acquisition, it looks as though you have a decent place to start with getting it back to good trailering condition. Please, please spend time (lots of time) on this website before you undertake anything major. You’ll be glad you did. Also, spend time just sitting in your trailer, getting to know it’s quirks and strong points. Then you can decide what’s important to you and what changes, if any you want to make.
Seeing as it’s almost September and you live in Alberta, so you probably won’t get the repairs done in time to go camping, which gives you the time to think everything through.
Side note: We have good friends who live a bit NW of Calgary. We spend time with them every August, but apparently the Canadian government is reluctant to allow any of us from south of the 49th to come up. We certainly don’t blame Canada. We can’t visit my family in Norway either! Just can’t wait until there’s a vaccine. Eh?

We can’t visit my family in Norway either! Just can’t wait until there’s a vaccine. Eh? Thanks! I was happy to find this one and for the price I paid as well since people are asking unrealistic prices for these old trailers or they have lots of visible water damage. I found this on FB marketplace for $2,500 and I ended up paying $2,000. I was told that everything was in working condition. Well, after I got it home and really had a good look, I am really glad I never tried to put water in the system or try and use the furnace. The stove/oven works, not sure about the water heater yet.
Since I have had it for a month and a half now, I have done a lot of things, replaced a lot of things. I will make a new post with all this so I don't clutter up this one And ya, I was hoping to have it ready for at least one camping trip this year, but not happening. It will be ready for next year though! I still need to get myself an older SUV/truck to tow it!
Ya, it sucks for me as well. My mom & grandma live in BC, about a 7-8 hour drive from Stony Plain, but I can't even go visit them. I had plans to go down this year as it has been two years that I was last down there.

Can I use a site other than Flickr? After the new owners took over, I got rid of my all my photo's on there. Is Imgur an okay site to use?

Very nice condition for a 78. Welcome. Ya, it was one of the nicer looking ones for the age and in better condition than others I looked at, which is why I got it Actually I was the first one to look at it and there were 3 others that were going to come see it after I did.

I'm not sure about Imgur. Others may know more.

Some of my pictures are saved to my Dropbox. You have to change the last part of the shared file to make it embedded (I think that's the word I want?) It's been working for me, not that I post a lot, and Vikx hasn't notified me that it's messing up the sight yet, so I assume it's OK.?. This is how I do it: How to directly link or embed Dropbox images
