Starting my full renovation on this 69 Shasta loflyte. I was wondering if any loflyte members could help me with the construction of the framing members. On the frame behind the wheel to the rear wall, The front portion of the wooden frame is sitting on and lagged to the steel frame, but on both sides of the trailer the other end does not seem to be supported. There is no evidence of anything missing, but can’t really detect what is carrying the rear load? If anyone had experience with this particular trailer Any help would be appreciated.

I added an angle piece under the back of the trailer from side to side, lagged in place. It really added strength. I also did this on my Land Commander but welded it because the floor was out. There's not much support back there. Here the Land Commander: 67landcommander2.shutterfly.com/ click on Pictures and Videos to view the albums. The Rot and Teardown album shows the back welding process. Here is the LoFlyte: loflytephotos.shutterfly.com/ The Repair album shows the added angle bar. It was attached to strong joist pieces. Depends on how far your trailer goes down how you manage the situation.

Thank you! This is exactly my situation, I was shocked to see that member just being held there at the end by the walls and floor. This is such a great help. I am going to follow your lead and add necessary support. Much, much thanks. So glad I found this site.

Hello Munk! Love the Loflytes! Welcome to the crazy world of trailer renovation! So great you found this site. It has helped me immensely, as have Mobiltec's videos on YouTube, his Patreon page and Vik's book. Links are on the homepage of this forum.
I used to own a 1969 Loflyte but I sold her before we renovated her. We then bought a 1968 Loflyte which we did restore. We have since sold that one too and we are now renovating another trailer. Vik was a huge help to me restoring the Loflyte but if I can help you with anything, let me know. Good luck!!
