Any spent the money on wool insulation?
I want to go somewhat eco-friendly during my rebuild (where I can), just wondering if anyone has had personal experience with it.

No personal experience, but I know it’s used by eco-minded folks in Great Britain. You might want to search the web for trailer restoration in England, Scotland, Wales, or Ireland. Good luck. We’d have considered it if it had been available a decade ago.

My brother used it in his recently-completed van conversion. He did lots of research and wanted to use all eco-friendly build materials, and agonized over the many insulation options, and eventually settled on wool. If you'd like more details I'm sure he has loads of notes on it (he's an engineer and documents everything). He sourced his from Havelock Wool.
He also utilized cork on many surfaces; birch ply from sustainable, responsible sources, constructed using adhesive made from food-grade soy flour; and pine planking treated without formaldehyde. It's been quite a project just to find sources for materials meeting his guidelines.

One thing about soy based products: critters LOVE it! A rat ate the soy based wiring in my Trailblazer a couple of years ago:

I was actually looking at Havelock, they seem to be the main brand for this purpose. I think I'm just going to go for it. I appreciate your offer of all the info, I'll definitely reach out if I have any questions!
