We are repairing our Jrail on our 54 Jewel and have to remove the Jrail and butyl tape we our on a year and a half ago. We can’t get the Re-mov that Larry recommends in time for this project. Any other suggestions? We have a heat gun and another product from True Value called Dissolve It but doesn’t seem to be working well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get as much off with a plastic putty knife and try something a bit more hardcore like acetone.

Butyl isn't that hard to remove, at least it shouldn't be. Get it warm and scrape it off, then use real paint thinner to remove the residue. I'm curious why you would want a silicone remover??

The silicone remover was recommended by Larry.
