I have a 1965 aristocrate dual axel. I would like to take it on forest road occasionally. Has anyone flipped the axels and if so any big issues I should worry about?

Welcome!
I've heard it messes with the center of gravity and puts added stress on parts of the axle that were designed for it.

I agree; flipping the axle can cause the tires to wear funny as well. There are lots of ways to lift your trailer safely. Let us know what you find.

My axle was underslung when I bought it,purchased new axle with elec brks and left it the same, gives a few inches for trlr clearance and tire change, yet axle will remain same height. Good luck with your judgement on them back roads👍 Mark

Spacers and axle placement help lift the trailer body. Do research before any changes are made. Also, tandem axles are different than our single axles, so more parts and effort may be necessary.

Personally, I'd find a local shop that does lifts on trucks, and ask them about it. There are right and wrong ways to lift a leaf spring suspension, and these shops have lots of experience in what works. If you need new hangers welded to your frame, or custom shackles made, they can do that too (probably for cheaper than you'd expect).
