We all have found items left in our newly acquired trailers from previous owners. Does anyone care to share what they found with pics? Some of the little odds and ends are cool and fun to look at.

Ours came with mouse poop (a very distinctive odor), incense candles, paisley upholstery and fortunately, just a small amount of rot. Also some original brochures from the trailer manufacturer, and hunting tips from 1965. I do have pics somewhere. Most of what we found was from the 10 years or so prior to our purchase. There may have been some sign of marijuana here and there as well. I was nervous about that when we took it to Canada last summer, but we had no problems. It is legal now here in Massachusetts.

I've gotten Tiger curtains, plastic snake skin seats, a mattress worse than you find in Cuban jails, and something dead that looked like a cross between a bat and a rat.
I did once find a fire extinguisher from 1962 the size of a tube of toothpaste. Very cool. I'll try to find the photo.

Mine had a random 1950s vacuum, an old microwave and a few ugly old dishes. Which it had had the keys!

So, Uhhhh, NCcamper, ummmm, so how do you know what kind of mattresses, they have in Cuban jails? LOL. Just messing with you. I do have a few pix somewhere of this stuff I have found - Ashtray from a car with Bakelite handles,a light up Christmas white reindeer which we now use every Christmas, plenty of fecal matter to make you toss your cookies, some tobacco pipes - probably about 20 of those and the remnants (legs)of some small 4 legged creature that had been converted to coat hooks. I wish I could say I found more interesting stuff. Cheers, Rod

I have found lots of mouse parts and droppings. One camper was an old dime and the other one was some old matchbooks. I was just starting to take apart the 57 Shasta and remembered this tread. So here you go. From what I could see the book was printed in 1951. 20200504_182204 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Hamlet’s PO had originally intended to restore him, but he didn’t have room. He had two Airflytes, a powder blue Model A, and a woodie with a canvas roof. The Compact looked like the poor step child sitting outside his 2000+ sq ft shop. He had cleaned Hamlet up nicely, though, so the only thing remarkable about Hamlet was what he came without... Front uppers, a couple windows, hubcaps, cushions of any sort, working slides for the cots, and wings.

I continue to clean and find items in the camper. I think you will very much like what I found this time. 20200505_171617 by Tom Ress, on Flickr I also found some ear rings, old lic plates, and a few other items. But I think the item above is one of the funniest.

I've found some cool cartoon postcards about camping life. A pair of boots, rotten jar of fish egg bait (no, I didn't open it!) dishes, kitchen stuff, hitches, a complete JC Higgins tent, kitchen stuff, kids hangers, broken umbrellas, car parts, old food, mouse, bees, wasps, two huge rolls of paper (fish wrap?), lanterns, 63 newspaper, car chains, gas cans, hoses, a super long pry bar (7-8 feet?), folding stools, alcohol, liniments, containers, buckets and the name tag "Kiyono" from Boeing. Most of the above came out of my 57 Shasta 1500. How they fit it all in, I can't guess.

Hamlet feels cheated. At least there could have been some desiccated remnants of its previous life as a hunter’s flop house.

Not my camper but I bought an old boat and when I picked it up it had a cheap little plastic tackle box looking thing in it. The guy said that it was just some old tools and I could have them. I sat the box on a shelf for a long time because it was full of water at the time. One day I went to throw it out and I opened it up, the tools that were in it were all snap on and sk. I spent a couple hours cleaning them up and still use them. Talk about a score.

I've not found anything as neat as a a Ginnie book but when pulling my water tank yesterday it looks like the original owner stuffed some packaging under the pressure pump. I thought ACME was a road runner/coyote spoof but I gather they are/were a tool and die casting company in LA. A little tube of grease was in there too, to be added to intake, 10 drops, while running, every three months. Must be 50 years old. Ha! pump by Tom Myers, on Flickr

In addition to one dead mouse (under the dinette drawer), we had some fun finds: roasting sticks, pudgie pie makers, old notebook, fun old match books. 1995 World Atlas (the year our son was born!) The PO also threw in the Welcome sign. Roasting sticks, pudgie pie makers on Flickr Old matchbooks on Flickr Welcome sign on Flickr 1995 World Atlas on Flickr
