We just purchased our first trailer from its original owner. It is a 1968 Corsair built by Divco-Wayne Industries Inc. in Marlette, Michigan. The owners have had it in their garage in San Jose, CA since 1980. This is my first barn (garage) find. I am a general contractor and saw the trailer during my first visit to their house. I instantly asked if they thought about selling it and the answer was "yes". During my initial inspection I did notice some damage to some trim around one wheel well. This damage allowed water to get on some plywood behind the aluminum siding and rot out that piece of plywood. Here is my YouTube video showing my repair. Repair Rotten Wood on Vintage TrailerIf anyone has information on the history of Corsair trailers built specifically by Divco-Wayne Industries Inc. in Marlette, Michigan I would be very grate full for the information. thank you Doug

Hi Doug! We also have a 1968 Corsair! Just purchased ours this week. Thanks for the link to the video, I can't wait to see more that you do. I have yet to see another one out there of this yet, so I'm super excited that you have one! I would also love to see any pics you have and other information you come across. I also found a Corsair enthusiast facebook group you may like: www.facebook.com/groups/1443848239185519/ Maybe someone on there has more information? Thanks, -Van Stan Fam

Welcome...both of you.
Your camper is new to me and (it may sound funny) newer than I usually restore. It reminds me a little of a camper my family owned when I was a child.
Hopefully somebody with more knowledge will chime in.

Nice repair, Doug. I would be sure to cover your metal plates before replacing the skin. The two different metals won't like each other...

Nice repair, Doug. I would be sure to cover your metal plates before replacing the skin. The two different metals won't like each other... good advise. Although it didn't seem to be a problem with the current metal plates. Maybe because the aluminum skin is painted on the inside. I'll be sure to do it next time.
