I have two bargman locks that came intact on my trailer. No keys. I bought some Bargamn blanks that the seller said would fit the L200 lock I have, but I am hesitant to bring them to a locksmith in case they are different than regular locks to re-key. I actually used to work at a locksmith shop years ago and the way we re-keyed the locks was simply to change out the little pins that were inserted into the tumblers.
Anyway.. just wondering who in the group has navigated this issue? Did you take them to a locksmith? Is it worth paying for a rekey kit on ebay (lot's of money, and still only gives me one tumbler).

I've only had the L66 which VTS has a replacement cylinder for $15. I took a look and they didn't have one for the L200. If you could find the cylinder and key I'd go that route.

My lock is a dexter and was in good shape but no keys. I gave it to a friend who’s a retired locksmith and he made keys without changing anything in the lock. No idea how, but he said it was pretty easy and did it for free. Of course right now it’s not like you can just wander around talking to locksmith shops.

I am thinking to drop them off at the local shop along with the blanks and ask them to at least give me some feedback..

I took mine to a locksmith and he made my keys for $8. I thought it was awesome and then I realized all the windows are screwed from the out side so if anyone wanted in all they have to do is take a window out.

I found a bargman L-200 that survived the local fire pit, cleaned it up and bought 2 blank keys,I don't claim to be a locksmith at all and seemed rather simple to take a black felt pen, slide across bottom of key and twist back and forth ten times or more and you can see where you need to file, clean, mark and repeat to step file, seems to work for me yet most of all patience is the key!
