We just purchased our first trailer. It's a 1968 Corsair built by Divco-Wayne Industries Inc. in Marlette, Michigan. It's in pretty good condition as it has been sitting in a garage in San Jose, CA since 1980. I have tried to find out more about these trailers but so far haven't found anything online. Do you all know anything about this trailer? How many were built? Restored? Thank you Doug

Hi and Welcome! You have a nice looking trailer there. I find it’s lines attractive. I am sure many of us would like to come across a garaged trailer. I can’t wait to see the inside. Corsair is a rare trailer manufacturer as are many others. I found some information here in a TCT Tin Can Tourists news letter. Scroll down a bit and you will find some historical information and a picture of a much smaller one than yours. tincantourists.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/TCT-Fall-Newsletter-2017.pdfCheers, Rod Hi Rod Thank you for the TCT news letter! Very interesting! The first thing I noticed was the "Corsair" logo font is completely different than mine. Next I see that it was a "Product of Vought Industries Inc." (mine is Divco-Wayne Industries). I then was surprised to see "a Los Angeles Times article reports that in 1962 a company called Divco-Wayne had snatched up V.I.I. from Chance-Vought, and then streamlined their holdings – there seems to be no production of Corsair campers during this period. Later Boise-Cascade assumed the business, and began making Corsair campers again. WHAT?!?!?! "there seems to be no production of Corsair campers during this period." I guess I have proof of otherwise. Here are some interior pictures I took this morning. Cheers Doug

Amazing find. A rare unmolested camper, just wow.
IMHO, and I'm sure others will agree, first recommendation is to remove and re-seal / putty tape all windows / brows / J-channel / roof vents, etc.

I have already replaced the skylight and re-coated the roof. I also removed the door and a lower section of aluminum siding and replaced plywood near the wheel. The rest of the framing looks to be in really good shape. I wish I could find more history on the Corsair Division during the short time Divco-Wayne own it. Specifically 1968

They were last online in April but I would guess the vin is on the tongue either stamped in the metal or on a small plate. Start a new thread asking this question if you find it there.

Looks like a cross between a Super Shasta and a Kenskill which I think was a great idea. Best of both worlds. Love the trunk and the inside is great shape.
