Hi,
I am thinking if I put it under the spring bolts it would raise it up too high. Looking at dollies in e-trailer and they run 3” high. I will send a pic tomorrow.

Pull the axle and put it on the dollies and then you can push it in. You may have to use a pry bar to get over the lip between the driveway and garage. You can also remove the vent and that will give you a few inches. My door was only 7 feet high so I had to remove the axle and push it in with the car and chain on the hitch and then lift it onto dollys once I got it in the garage. You will want the height in the garage to work on the roof and deal with the garage door coming up and down. Here is a link to my project and you can see I dropped it right to the frame and then pushed it in with car. You will need to go down a few posts but you will see it. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/9769/58-shasta-restoration-progress?page=11Also you can go to this link for more photos of how I got it out. photos.app.goo.gl/5aq2uKZT7ECy3V9H3 The dollys are nice because you can push it around in the garage and if you need to put it on stands to work under it you can do that too. This is my humble option but I was forced to go to a bit more of an extreme because of the low door height.

Pull the axle and put it on the dollies and then you can push it in. This is how we got our Shasta Compact in under a 7' garage door. We pulled it in with a come-a-long. Our next house has an 8' door.

Hi, Would a space saver spare like this one work if you removed the tire? Rim might be too big, though. I bought two of these on CL for less than $20 each while working on my trailer chassis. That way you aren't spending money on new tires to have it sit a few years while it's worked on. Rod

I was hoping of being able to put in the garage in wintertime but was hoping I could easily put in in between trips.
Teachndad,
Do you know the diameter of the spare tire?

Hi,
The diameter is 16 1/2" with a 5 hole rim with a tire sized at T125 90R15 96M. The spare in the image above is one I pulled off the net at random.
I hope that helps.

Rod,
That might work and cheaper too. There is a place in town that sells used tires I might take a look.
