Hi everyone my name is John. I recently retired to my desert property near Joshua Tree which has a small homestead cabin on it. I've been looking for a vintage trailer to fix up and use as a guest house on the property. After a short search I found 2 trailers for sale that were languishing on a 12 acre hoarder's ranch in North Palm Springs. The hoarder died and her nephew was trying to sell them but they were inaccessible to any vehicles. I ended up with 3 trailers that were on the property. We needed a Bobcat skid steer and flatbed tilt trailer to get them back to my property. I have pictures of the whole adventure but since this is my first post I will introduce you to the '63 Cardinal. I found a 1991 registration card in the trailer which gave me the make and year. There are a few pics on the web of '63 Cardinals but I haven't seen any with the "trunk". They had the door on the property and it's re-installed in the first pic. I have been watching Mobiltec's videos. Luckily no silicone on this girl. Stay tuned...

Welcome!
I appreciate the photos. Three on one property is a major score.

Welcome, love your Cardinal. That butt looks like it leaks like a sieve with the two access doors on top... I would move them when you do your rebuild...

How did the other trailers look? Having access to the right equipment to recover them must've been helpful. Let's hear that story!

How did the other trailers look? Having access to the right equipment to recover them must've been helpful. Let's hear that story! The other two trailers were a 1960 ish Santa Fe and a 1970 cardinal. The 70 Cardinal is in pretty nice shape the Santa Fe needs help. My only technology in the desert is a cell phone, next time I'm in Orange County at my landline computer I will tell the story. Doing the Flickr photo thing here is nearly impossible on this phone. Stay tuned!
