vikx, your camper is a dream come true. Amazing condition. There is a little more framing on your camper. But mine has better air ventilation.
I'm grateful this camper was unmolested and has all the pieces.

LOL. I ADDED that framing! I remember Larry commenting on Shasta's wonderful building methods...
Also really beefed up the table hangers, doubled the cross boards. It's surprising they held together over the roads.

Day 3 I pulled a pile of nails to loosen the roof, took out the water tank, removed the front panel and benches, then measured every opening a second time along with lots of photos.

Larry, I intend to use your videos and Tom’s thread as my primary sources of information. This camper is so rotted and I don’t have a perfect template to follow. some pieces are disintegrating in my hands. But overall the camper is really great starting point because all the irreplaceable pieces are there.

The videos are not the greatest resolution because back then the cameras weren't as good as today. Even You Tube didn't upload the greatest. But the info is all good and lots of photos too. It's all on my website.

The skin is off. Now I move slowly to take photos and measure everything.
Roof looks surprisingly good.
I've never seen so many layers of goop around a vent.

Today I started taking out the kitchen cabinet from my 1956 Shasta when the former owner jumped out and came within 6" of kissing me.
Services will be held Sunday. He requested no flowers instead a donation to the local Animal Shelter would be appreciated.

Funny but more than likely true. Your aim would have to be extraordinary Lol! Also, below the galley sink, Ewwww! Not having that sort of plumbing, my first thought was that it was a bypass for the usual inlet to fill a water tank?

I'm sharing a lot of demo photos because it's one of my favorite parts of a camper project. A vintage scavenger hunt.
Cabinets came out.
Well wells look good...so far.
