It has been brought to my attention that some (or all?) Flickr photos are not being posted on the board. A Proboards program called "Cloudflare" is blocking the photos. Cloudflare seems to be protection type software to prevent damage from those with evil intent.
A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of my 56 Aljo in Mobiltec's Trippin thread. (very recognizable because it was a salmon ham with white walls) This morning, I tried to re-post and the photo/action was blocked.
Anyone ever heard of Cloudflare or have any ideas? Is ANYONE able to post photos from Flickr??? Thanks, V
Other boards are having problems with Cloudflare and have posted on the Proboards Support board. Will let you know what happens.

Heya Vikx,
My guess is that those not showing are likely blocked via cloudflare protection due to hotlinking, whereas posting the direct image link as opposed to the link Flickr provides that directs back to them (live.staticFlickr.com/...). Images pass through cloudflare for link verification and if not linked properly are then blocked.
From Cloudflares site:
When enabled, the "Hotlink Protection" option ensures that other sites cannot suck up your bandwidth by building pages that use images hosted on your site. Anytime a request for an image on your site hits Cloudflare, we check to ensure that it's not another site requesting them. People will still be able to download and view images from your page, but other sites won't be able to steal them for use on their own pages.
Again, I'm just guessing as I am unsure exactly what link was used on the photos that were blocked/not-displaying.

Most of my recent build photos went to a flickr cloud account, (I know, nothing to do with cloudfare I bet)but that account suddenly disappeared and as the cloud account automatically absorbed pics asI downloaded, and access to the cloud has also everaporated, I'm no longer able to access or post anything. I'm guessing they just assume I'm too old to have anything interesting anyway, but I'm wondering if there is something blocking my access...

One of our newer members brought this up to me. It appears to be a Cloudflare/Flickr issue. I joined VGY.ME hosting site and the photo posted perfectly. So now I don't know what to do at Flickr. I'm not sure what "hotlinking" is and if I'm doing it... the photo at Flickr pops up a box when clicked. I "embed" the link which is blocked when you try to post a reply. I can post a link but it won't show the photo on the board. Any ideas around this?

Hotlinking is when you directly post the photo from Flickr on another site. Flickr requires that you only post the embed link that they provide which forces you to their page to see the picture. Flickr really isn't meant to by a photo hosting site for other forums and doesn't work well for that. In the past, I have used imgur.com or just putting the photos on my blogger blog which allows hotlink rehosting.
