Probably a couple of ratchet straps could have replaced all those clamps if the boards were cut to the same height.

7 Jorgensens out of 12 clamps just on one side!
My Dad and I bought some el cheapo Jorgensen type clamps and they all were sprung first use. Not worth the money...

I bought two sets of the Irwin clamps yesterday. $9.99 per set on sale at Ace Hardware... My other favorite store.

When it comes to clamps Irwin good H F junk It is not the steel bar that fails they break where the squeeze trigger pivots. I've had that problem too...drilled a small hole through that pivot point and used an 1/8" bolt and nut to recreate the pivot through the trigger. This has worked remarkably well for many projects since...actually makes them way better than original. Don't throw them away too soon.

I guess "great minds" think alike.
I had eight of the cheap (99 cents on sale) HF clamps and every one broke at the pivot. I drilled a 3/16" hole through the body and handle and placed a, 10-32 screw and nylox nut for the pivot, and they lasted for two more years of hard use, before they broke at the ends.
LOL
