Central hand pump exploded view and rebuild instructions.

I am going to put the Central hand pump back into service on my 64 Shasta. Since all the pieces are in great shape, all I will need to replace are the two o-rings. The NAPA part numbers for the o-rings are 727-2210 and 727-2116. Here is an exploded view of the individual pieces.

Here is the silicone grease and o-rings needed.

Install the large o-ring onto the bottom of the inner plunger, and lubricate it with the silicone. Also, lubricate the plunger shaft.

Insert the plunger through the faucet housing.

Lubricate and install the small o-ring and knurled nut onto the upper plunger, and tighten the nut.

There is a small convex cap that goes on the end of the plunger before the handle goes on. Put it into position now.

Insert a screwdriver through the hole in the base of the plunger, thread the handle on, and hold the screwdriver while you thighten the chrome handle.

Insert the metal check ball into the brass outer housing, and push the inner plunger into the outer housing.

Screw the brass housing into the base of the chrome faucet.

At this point it is back together and functional. Test by putting the bottom of the base into a container of water, and cycle the plunger up and down. It will squirt water as you go both up and down. 😀
