Do they have some sort of rubber spacer or gasket to hold them in? I watched Larry's video but zero of my windows have any old rubber or method for retaining the rubber. My 65 windows appear to rely on aluminum tabs so I just crimped them down onto the new glass, which is narrower than the old so it worked out well.

Someone squished down the part that holds the rubber disc. That bottom part in the photo up against the glass. Carefully open that up with a screw driver. Use a putty knife against the glass as protection and then get the screw driver under that metal tab and open it up. Then the disc goes in and you smash it down slightly on the disc.

Does it seem likely that I couldn't find disks or even residue in any of the 3 jalousie windows I have?

Hey Dan,
Larry is correct. I was going to say the same thing. Those discs could have fallen out decades ago. I don't have the residue or evidence of the discs in any of Andy's jalousies.
My '66 Scotsman had the same issue. Someone had crimped the holders down without the discs.
Cheers,
Rod

Well I can't see the other side to really determine how much play there would be to insert a 1/8 inch thick disc. But in the later 60s trailers that I have worked on the jalousies all had the discs. Could you back the camera up a bit and then pull out one of the panes also and get a photo of that? Then I could see the entire enclosure of where the glass goes and where the disc would be.

I defer to the expert but all of my windows have this aluminum tab that crimps down onto the glass. I have to think late 60s cost savings created a window that doesn't require the rubber spacers. These are pics of a window I never touched:

You bend those down and by the way you have to do that in order to release the glass anyhow, and you will have room for the discs...
