Those I shaped pieces are braces that help support the window frame in a Hehr push out window. This is the part of the window that hinges outward from the base. I referred to it as the front side of the window frame in another thread. Look at the image below that shows the uninstalled open window frame. The front side is the part of the window that is angled upward in this picture.
Notice that on the underside, you can see one of those I braces. They are attached with the same nuts and bolts that you used to fasten the glass retaining strips. You would need just 4 of the nuts and bolt sets for each brace.
This image shows a closer look of the brace as it’s installed on the underside of the front side window frame.
Below is the best image I have right now of the window showing the front side and the I brace through the glass. The window frame as pictured is upside down.

Rod, Thank you so much!! So what type of nuts and bolts do I use to attach said rod? I don’t have any extra nuts and bolts in our stash. Oh I’m praying it’s something we can get at the hardware store cause if not...it’s gonna delay our project! 😳😳 Next question... I’ve watched the videos on windows from mobiltec and watched where he installs the glass seal....but then he never shows how to actually install the glass. Any advice??? You explained about the extra pieces of metal I had in an earlier post....is that applied here?do I need to clamp or screw anything down? Wish there was a video
