My mom made curtains for us and I need to buy the curtain rods. What type do I get? I know they’re NOT tension rods...but what type? Gotta be 1/2” or less in diameter. If you know where to get them and what they’re called, I’d love your advice!!! Erin
I bought Mainstays round rod sash at Walmart ($6). The bracket keeps the curtains close to the window. I also made rod pockets at the top and bottom of the curtains so they don't sway out away from the window
Depends on your particular windows. The second is like our larger window and will only work on windows larger than 4 feet but I would try the first as it gets the curtains closer to the window to block more light. You could always add a birch shim if they are slightly too close.
In my ‘57 Westerner, the curtain rod brackets looked like this below. I am assuming these were original? Click on the photo and then once it opens in Flickr, then click again to magnify.
You can see the complete curtain rod below. Repeat the directions to magnify.
Finally, here is what the curtain rod looks like from the front and back. The top curtain rod on top is what you see when you are inside the trailer looking outward. The lower curtain rod shows a gap which is the track for a roller hanger of some kind.
Anyone can decide what they want for a curtain rod. Your trailer is yours. Depending on the thickness of your fabric, consider if the curtain will be able to slide open and closed if the curtain rod is next to the wall. Will bunching of the fabric effect how it moves on the curtain rod?
