Hi Folks, Any tried and true methods for cleaning the dirt that adheres to butyl excess that squeezes out from the joints?

Looks like mildew, not just dirt. I'd clean with bleach first, then try carefully cutting / scraping it with a sharp chisel or utility knife. Afterwards, I used a thin bead of Gutterseal applied with my finger and wiped with mineral spirits. I did this before painting. Over time more will most likely squish out, especially in warm weather.

Paint thinner/mineral spirits... pure butyl is worse than RV butyl putty; stickier and oozes more.
