Ten,
I think you might be right. That looks just like my trailer. I sent my serial number to Ross so hopefully he can confirm.

That brochure for the Shasta Deluxe is interesting. I thought the deluxe was just longer from the pictures I have seen in the past. I was going to ask about the front side dinette windows. It looks unusual to me because all the Airflytes I have seen have the slightly angled stationary window in those locations. Also the back window on yours is louvered. Most seem to be a flip out awning type in the back.
I also noticed the picture you posted of your floor plan says 16 on it and not Airflyte. I am learning now that there was model differences not just year by year but also model changes even in the same size trailer. Is there a documented list somewhere that lists out the models and differences? 1500 1600 16 Airflyte etc?

One of these Airflyte Deluxe s surfaced here on the forum a few years back. It was mistaken for the 1500. Some teamwork and research turned up the brochure, distinguishing it as a unique model. The differences from the 1500 were subtle, and you had to be good at those puzzles, "Name 7 differences in the two pictures" to tell them apart.
This one shouldn't be confused with the Airflyte model. The louvered side dinette and rear windows, and lack of the streetside window over the gaucho are distinctly different, as is the reversal of the kitchenette, The Airflyte stove is forward, next to the table. This was only built for one model year, that I am aware of.
Here's the interior depictions from the brochure, which really should confirm the model. Pay attention to the details, like light placements and the bunk slide. (Remember, the Airflytes had the hanging canvas bunks.)
The model that answers commonly as the "Deluxe" was the same basic canned-ham but was built on the 19-foot frame. It offered the roomier design with the shower. At some points in time these models were referred to as the "1600" and the "1900". Notice that the "16" floor plan shown is the plan for the more common Airflyte, with the stove forward in the kitchenette.
To my knowledge, and there is not a lot of that, there is not a list that shows the models and actually dates them. Even the brochures that have been accumulated have no dates on them confirming model years. These, like the VIN numbers, have been compiled, and the patterns of the model dates have been assumed from that.
In the case of the Airflyte Deluxe, there is nothing in the VIN that confirms a model. It's all detective work at this point.

Welcome to the forum! You have a very nice uncommon project. Lots of help available here. I suggest you get vikx book (available on her site here) and start watching mobiltec's videos before you start tearing things apart.
Check your messages. I sent you a personal message.

The above pictures are from our 1963 1500 Shasta. ignore the lovely spray paint. It was used for a drinking wagon here in Alberta at Big Valley Jamboree. Door fronts are not original they look exactly like ikea.

They just put that in everything.
How do you know yours is a 1500? What distinguishing features are looking at? Is it just the length? The interior layout looks pretty similar.

Are you sure it is a 1500, and not the Airflyte Deluxe? Two differences to look for...
The 1500 had no cargo door at the rear streetside corner, the A. D. does. And, the icebox/fridge placement is different.

Ten i didn’t have any idea what we had till I sent the vin number and pictures to Ross. He has a huge data base of vin numbers starting from when he ran the Shasta pro board and has figured out about 7 different shastas I have here . ours does not have a street side cargo door only one on curb side and our fridge is directly across from the oven on the curb side. Orshasta has that street side door. Thanks for the brochures which I am going to print off and take a closer look. Lila

Sounds like a 1500, then, just wondered because I could not tell for sure from the photos posted. The VIN does not absolutely determine the model, but because of the large collection of VIN's that Ross has, he's been able to find patterns of "runs" of a model at the different plants.
All these brochures are posted in the Shasta section of the board. Glad that I can help...if it is any help....
