I've been to both of these so far. Videoed them both. Not a really big turn out and it's hot as heck out there. No hookups and no shade. I doubt I will be back.

Seems that out in the desert like that, they would be better off with Cool April nights rather than Hot August anything. Don't ever look for me there. I can't handle the heat here in Redding, let alone Reno-Sparks.

I tried to offer some advice about how a trailer rally works and they wanted no part of it. They said "We know what we are doing"... LOL

They said "We know what we are doing"... LOL I started attend g Hot August Nightsin 1988 Old manager was fantastic. Even though new management does things differently. I always had a GREAT time. I will always respect all the work it takes to on ANY event. Oh ya the HANs for the cars is great! But they have only been doing the Trailer Rally for two years and they have no idea what they are doing. I explained to them that most vintage trailer enthusiasts are used to a much more inviting setting with hook ups and shade. But they don't want to hear it. The first year only had about 20 trailers and the second one wasn't much different. If you want to see what they are like I videoed both. By the way the vintage trailer revival is no where near where all the cars were. 2017 2018

I am sure you will have a great time. I have always enjoyed hanging out with Private Party owners. It's great building long term Friendships. It's never about money or who has the most spotless trailer. Just the Fun stories and like interest. Go to as many as you can. Congratulations.

I wonder why the trailers aren't in with the car show? Seems to me they would be complimentary to each other...

The Hot August Nights Rally went well. The weather cooperated and the highs were in the 80's. They reduced the number of open houses to 2x four hour days. This year it was hosted by the Vintage Trailer Magazine folks. They now supply electricity until 9:00 PM! We actually liked the location, it was much better than a asphalt parking lot. It was only 2 miles to downtown. We walked a few times and ride the Honda Passports a couple of times. I talked to some of the people involved and it seemed like they really want to make it work, but if enrollment doesn't ride it might be cancelled. There was 24 hour security, the porta potties were serviced each day and there was a shower trailer available. I was impressed an the lengths that they went to. Entry was $100 and that included two passes that got us into multiple events for free. It made for a very inexpensive way to enjoy H.A.N. We did have a ton of visitors, we talked to do many people we began to lose our voices, but the spectator response was very good. We did not really participate in the rally events since we were so busy trying to see and do as much as possible. I hope to go again next year and see some of you there!

That looks like a pretty nice little venue. I'd gladly trade the nicer showers at the Buellton rally for $200 of my $300 back. My kids would have had a ball on all that grass too.
