we had to make our own welting/gimp/whatever, because we couldn’t find it nine years ago. Some of it is fraying at the ends and we’re wondering if it’s possible to replace it without pulling the paneling.

It's almost impossible to replace welting with the wall panels/ceiling in place. I would try to trim with very sharp scissors and paint with fabric fray liquid or similar. Anything to make it look a little better. A very light coating of a water based caulk might "stick" it down just enough. Any photos?

No photos and since he’s “dry docked” for the winter, we probably won’t be using him again until at least the end of February... or whenever the PNW daily dose of rain subsides. Next time we use him, I’ll check it out. I suspected we would be a little stuck. Ah well, welting doesn’t make Hamlet any more useable.
