BINGO!
Yep - I'll likely try to match the fridge door to the yellow Wilson Art Cracked Ice counters. Unfortunately I don't have enough of their Formica left and don't know if I want to shell out another $140 for a 4x8 sheet... There is some good looking very durable contact paper that I might cover the wood insert with that would be a close match.

PT- Another option for your door fridge could be car wrap material or any piece of vinyl. Lots of color options out there to try and match a yellow. Check out Amazon or locally at place like Fast Signs.
Also, do people still drink beer out of glass bottles? Glass is not even recyclable where I live. And for camping it takes up more space and is heavier.

Personally - I have never met a beer or beer receptacle I didn't like ;-) and thankfully Oregon does recycle beer and soda bottles as part of its "Bottle Bill" recycling program.

I am usually able to find places to discard my glass and trash legally. If not I pack it home.

PT, another option to cover the fridge door is a vintage style travel poster. I found a reprint of a 1922 CP rail poster advertising Holidays in Canada and installed into the fridge door on my 1966 Buco. It was almost the exact size I needed. I slid it into the door channel and covered it with a 1/16 thick plexiglass panel. I posted a picture on this forum, just search buco and you can find it.

Thanks - cool idea - I've been considering some similar creative ideas. Spoonflower.com prints some cool Tiki and Atomic themed contact paper/wall paper that I've been thinking about too. Now I can look for the perfect travel poster as well :-)

Looks great. Where did you get the axle and how much did it cost?

Today was a painting day for the Holiday House. I learned a nice trick via a You Tube search for painting rims while the tires are still on them. Deflate the tires and overlap 3x5 index cards under the lip of the rim all the way around. I cut a 17" circle in painters paper to mask the rest of the tire - worked perfectly :-)
Not trying to derail you thread, just wanted to share. I found a way to break down the bead on a tire to help with painting without having to go to the tire shop. I hooked up a utility trailer to my truck and used the tongue jack to push the bead down thus popping it loose from the rim. Be sure to put the jack foot close to the bead. I really like your idea too!
