I took my little trailer up Thursday and paid 60 bucks for two nights stay even tho I wasn't staying. (wanted to support the rally)
Anyway, went in today so that vicx could enjoy the rally with his little mobility scooter. (I took mine, they are FUN to use) Anyway, the "gate guy" attacked us at the turn into the grounds. You are driving too fast, where are you going to park, why didn't you stop at my little cones??? Uh, you weren't there... He was racing around on some sort of motorized scooter a lot faster than we were driving and banged on my car to stop us. I had a cargo trailer and explained about the mobility items needed by vicx. More attacks and finally, "maybe this rally isn't for you".
There were many nice, nice people there who were very welcoming and helpful. Vicx enjoyed his jaunt and seeing all his friends.
It's very sad to see how controlling and greedy rally people are becoming. I think they're in it for the money.
60 bucks for 2 nights is a steal compared to California rallys. Did the gate guy work for the site or was he part of the rally. So many people let the slightest amount of power go right to their heads...probably just an unhappy little man and you shouldn't give him even a tiny space in your head.
Well, it happened again today.... Dick the gateman was waiting to cause trouble to any and all...(I believe he is related to the lady running the rally??)
I wandered in about noon and told him I was there to pick up my trailer. Dick looks at his watch and around the grounds and says, "it's busy you'll run over someone". Say WHAT?? I think I can manage to drive thru the grounds without hurting anybody. (except Dick of course) So, I got to my trailer and LUCKY ME! A really big Ford Expedition was exactly in my way to get the trailer out; nice loooong hitch poking out as well. Ha Ha ha. So I convinced my neighbor to leave it right there for several hours. I'm laughing as I write. I squoze the Jeep in between trailers and STAYED to enjoy my friends.
Turned out that Dick had also restricted another lady about getting her vehicle to her trailer. She had a hurt knee and was trying to set up her trailer to sell trinkets after participating in the swap meet in a building some distance away. She's a lot nicer than me, so got it done after a couple of minutes.
On the way out, stopping for the cones, Dick says, "I'm sorry you're so unhappy" I didn't say a word....
