I like the bird above the door... Thanks, it’s amazing what you can find at vintage shops. I’m always on the lookout for things you don’t see everyday, and it contributes to the local economy. I like to help small businesses as much as I can. Debra

I sure did...….... It was more important for me to get it mounted then cleaned. I've been spending a lot of time with daddy's, I haven't been home much so when I'm there I have to make it count. Richard can clean it when I'm not there. I have another MRI scheduled for the middle of September so he has to do the metal stuff with me a safe distances away. He's not happy about it but he does it anyway.

With the wings on, you are ready to take flight! I can hardly wait...……….. I brought the supplies needed to construct the screen door with me to daddy's house. We made time today to start getting it framed up. Debra

Hi Y'allI haven't posted an update in a couple weeks, we were trying to get a few things completed before taking her on her first trip. Daddy helped me get started on the screen door. IMG_1460 by debra branch, on Flickr I cut all the pieces to length at home before going to daddy's. We glued it together and clamped it to dry. I used the sander to even up all the seams. Richard helped Daddy (My favorite woodworker) cut a dowel rod to use as pins. IMG_3662 by debra branch, on Flickr After the pins were cut I sanded the rough edged and stained them black we used a router to trim the area for the hinge. and Richard stained the door gray. I installed it but I will have to take it back off, its too tight but I was out of time before her first trip but without air I wanted to be able to leave the main entrance door open but not let the insects in. We also cleaned and installed the Name plates, re-screened the windows, mounted the entry assist and shutters. I know shutters are not original to a Shasta but I like them, and its a 1971 so no one expects it to be. If It were an 1950s I would want it to be as close as I could get it to original. IMG_1464 by debra branch, on Flickr Richard also mounted the propane tanks. I cleaned up the outdoor shower and sprayed it with polyurethane to seal it. It goes together in 2 pieces. My father-in-law welded it for me, and I have 2 shower curtains to enclose it when in use. Some of you may have seen one of these shower pails before. I've used one of these in the field and they work great. I found it at an Army/Navy surplus store. IMG_1465 by debra branch, on Flickr It stores on the bumper. IMG_1467 by debra branch, on Flickr It attaches to the wheel mount and bumper for travel, and mounts on the post on the back street side when in use. We put the hitch and haul on the front of the Jeep to carrying the generator to Darlington for the race. We were dry camping at the race. IMG_3664.JPG.jp5sq25 by debra branch, on Flickr We still need to add something to the back bumper for our water cans but for this trip they store well up front. List of items to complete on CamperFinish bunk Complete screen door Figure out 5gal water can storage get my brother to fabricate new bench legs Thanks for reading and as always any and all thoughts and advise are Welcome...……. IMG_3698 by debra branch, on Flickr We love our propane smoker we use it as an oven most of the time..... We finished out our family vacation at Lake Hartwell on the S.C. and Ga. line. IMG_1483 by debra branch, on Flickr We were going to go to the beach but with the bad weather expected on the coast we changed our plans and traveled to the western side of the state.
