Thanks looks like it would be an easy project to make a new one for one of my rebuilds looks to be made from duck cloth If you haven't made one already I won't be using the one from My shasta compact. Not sure its the same size for your trailer thou. Pretty sure its original

Nice work. The camper will be better than the day it rolled off the assembly line.

Back on the project after the the Holidays. Finished removing all the original tiles with a multi-tool. Wood underneath is in very good condition. I tried the Mobiltec method of wet newspapers in a spot to soften the black residue, and it works great. ABC57547-8FCA-4298-9D4E-C8E078027F8C by Bryan Port, on Flickr

Just so everyone knows, that technique doesn't work on all types of underlayment. At some point they began to mix an oil substance into it and the wet newspaper trick doesn't work on that at all. In the 66 Super Shasta I had to resort to chipping it all up with the multi-tool. Good job though and I'm glad it worked for you.

Keep in mind that you must keep the towels moist. So that means a visit in there with the sprayer every hour or so depending on the humidity in your area at the time. 6 to 8 hours is what it takes. Then give it a try.

Followed Mobiltec’s advice and kept the paper towels wet throughout the day. In the evening I scraped the black goo up. Here is what it looks like after the first round. I am pleased at how much came up. 14E9FDD0-61CA-48F0-85E3-127381A75838 by Bryan Port, on Flickr

You might want to wear a respirator for the rest of the clean up.

The fridge is just temporarily set in place. There is a metal trim ring that surrounds the perimeter that screws into the wood to hold it into place. Will show this in the future.
