Wow- I just spotted the classified ad. What a great price! And he has more trailers.... Why can't I find those kind of deals here on the East Coast??? It was a good price but it needs a ton of work. I would have been hesitant to pay much more although the parts are well worth the money. The larger trailers just aren't as desirable to most people and usually sell for less. He has many trailers, more than are listed (20+) , most need lots of work. I have a couple other projects to finish before I start on this. We will clean it out and try to stop the water intrusion, at least keep it from ruining anything else until we are ready.

Its fiberglass, thats how Kencrafts are made. Newer ones have a fiberglass front and back also. Good quality trailer.

I kicked around the idea of duals also. I pick it up this weekend so I will know more then. I do believe there would be room for duals though.

On my 58 Santa Fe the walls are 2x2 and they have a 3/4"x 3/4" ledge on the inside, roof panels fit in there and then the rafters so no filling required along the edge. I made the corners on it with 3/4" ply, 2 pieces glued and screwed together with the 2 different radii.

Bigbill, thanks for the info. It does have electric brakes and I have an F-250 diesel with tow package so mirrors and power are not a problem. I will be careful with the weight distribution, have had the wagging tail before. I have a 25' toy hauler so the size is a non issue for me. The single axle is my only concern with it, the axle axle has 4 leaf spring packs, 2 on each side with one set acting as overloads. I have kicked around adding an axle but I hate to change it that much.

Hamlet, it is a 1954, was posted in the for sale section. No tanks underneath. We were planning to build a bed frame for storage and probably the fresh water tank since it has none now. If you notice it has no cargo hatches in back. I think it was set up to be in a trailer park. We would like it to be self contained and then we would sell our Wanderer Wagon.

Thanks Vikx, once we saw it we had to have it regardless of how much work it needs. Going to need plenty of guidance and information to get this one redone. Can't find much info on these trailers. We have to decide if we want to make it self contained or not. We need to add 12 volt. What kind of fridge to put in it. We have no idea what the dinette looked like or if it had table and chairs. Did it have a built in bed or? We want to keep it close to original but make it work for us. We will add AC and microwave, hidden most likely. Adding fresh, black and grey water tanks is one of my big decisions and can it be done, have to get a good look under the trailer when we get it home. The fresh water tank can go under the bed, possibly use 2 portable tanks? I want to have the plan outlined as much as possible before I take it apart.

Just pulled the trigger on the Traveleze. It needs a frame up rebuild but we really like the looks of it. It is complete for the most part, missing a fridge, back window and couple of small things. We wanted a vintage trailer with a bathroom. We pick it up next week. Its 25' overall and almost 8' wide. Traveleze album

Well it is far better shape than my 1st and only one so far. Read and learn here, read some more. They all seem to be more work than you think at the beginning. I just finished mine and seriously thinking about another, larger trailer that needs a frame up rebuild. I must be crazy but it gets in your blood. They are not as difficult to repair as they seem at first. I have decided its easier to take it down farther and replace anything suspect than to try and patch it up intact. My 2 cents. Enjoy it!

Thanks everyone for the comments. From start to finish with some long periods of stagnation we spent almost 2 years on it. It is road legal as of yesterday, had to get a new plate since I did not have the original. Finishing touches today, scraping and sealing the putty tape and sewing curtains.
